Recently, Douglas Herring, Esq. has received advanced-level training from the American Association of Premier DUI Attorneys on how to win DUI-drug cases. Law enforcement officers are trained to understand that many different medical conditions, emotions, and feelings may cause a sober driver to exhibit signs and symptoms that are similar to that of drug impairment. They are also taught that toxicology results cannot solely prove that a driver was impaired, along with being taught that blood and urine tests disclose the existence of drugs long after the effects have worn off. However, a skilled lawyer knows how to work backward on the case by cross-examining the arresting officer and getting them to admit the inconsistent findings, among other things.
